I have a CloudShare environment set up with three separate Virtual Machines.
The three machines are an Active Directory 2012 server, a SharePoint 2013 server, and an SQL Server 2012 server. The three servers are set up in a Farm (a CloudShare SharePoint 2013 Small Farm.)
On the SharePoint 2013 server, there is a Search Application, that links to the SQL Server 2012 machine for crawling. However, the Search Application currently has issues connecting to the SQL Server for crawling and the application reports an error on startup:
The search service is not able to connect to the machine that hosts the administration component. Verify that the administration component 'xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx' in search application 'SearchServiceApplication' is in a good state and try again.
The SQL Server is up and running and the DB exists within SQL Server 2012 on that server. Why can't SharePoint 2013 connect to the SQL Server to set up the search application? How would I fix this issue?
